"Great," thought Lightning."I'm stuck on the worst mission of my life." Lightning was hiding behind a tiny cliff, nestled into some plants. It was night-half, and the sky was dark and foggy. Sky foxes didn't normally go spying on other clans because they felt it was invading their privacy. But since the attack on the sleeping holes a couple hours ago, Hrothtail had sent out at least six other spies to find out what the enemy was doing.
A group of water foxes were talking only a few paw steps above Lightning. Sleektail, the leader of the water foxes, was asking one of the trainers a question.
"So when do you think we should attack them?"
For a while, they were silent. They seemed to hear some rustling from below them. Lighting was moving around in the plants because they stank. The water foxes could hear the noise. They turned around again and the other fox said, " Tomorrow."
The plants, which Lightning seemed to be allergic to, made him feel like he had a head cold. His nose started to twitch. Mousedung! he thought. Lightning sneezed.
The foxes looked around as they heard the same noise . They turned around and saw Lighting flying into the air.
"What was that?" Sleektail said, startled. His eyes opened as wide as a owl's.
"Oh, it was probably just a bird," said the trainer.
Time to tell Hrothtail about the enemy's plan, thought Lightning as he disappeared into the fog.
Sleektail smirked. "If only those sky foxes knew our real plan," he said.
